A batsman scored 124 runs, which included 6 boundaries and 10 sixes. what percentage of his total score did he make by running between the wickets?

Options
a) 28 \frac {19}{31}%
b) 24 \frac {1}{31}%
c) 32 \frac {8}{31}%
d) 35 \frac {3}{31}%

Solution

As per question
The batsman scored from boundaries = 6 x 4 = 24 runs
The batsman scored from sixes = 10 x 6 = 60 runs
Total runs scored running between the wickets = 124 – ( 24 + 60 ) = 124 – 84 = 40 runs
Runs scored % = \frac{40}{124} \times 100 = \frac {1000}{31}
=32\frac {8}{31}%

Ans: 32\frac {8}{31}%
