Find the area of a square, one of whose diagonals is 4.8 m long.

Find the area of a square, one of whose diagonals is 4.8 m long.

Options
a) 12.5 m2
b) 10.5 m2
c) 9.5 m2
d) 11.52 m2

Solution

As per question
Let the one side of square is a
Diagonals (d) = 4.8 m
Formula :
d = \sqrt 2a
4.8 = \sqrt 2a
a = \frac {4.8}{ \sqrt 2}
Area of square = a2
Area of square = (\frac {4.8}{ \sqrt 2})^2
Area of square =\frac {23.04}{2} = 11.52

Ans: d) 11.52 m2
