What is the value of sec (t), if tan (t) = \frac{1}{3} ?

Options
a) \frac{ \sqrt3}{3}
b) \frac{2 \sqrt2}{3}
c) \frac{ \sqrt10}{3}
d) \frac{ \sqrt10}{9}

Solution

As per question

tan Q = \frac {BC}{AC} = \frac 13
(AB)2 = (AC)2 + (BC)2
(AB)2 = (3)2 + (1)2
(AB)2 = 9 + 1 = 10
AB = \sqrt 10
sec (t) = \frac {BC}{AC} = \frac { \sqrt 10}{3}

Ans is ) \frac { \sqrt 10}{3}
