UP Police SI Exam paper – Mathematics

Solution :

Given rate of interest (r) = 10%,
t for younger son = 3 years
t for elder son = 2 years

Suppose
P1 is principal (present amount) for Younger son
P2 is principal (present amount) for elder son

Both Son receive equal amount, when 19 years old.

Amount = P1(1+\frac{10}{100})^3 =P2(1+\frac{10}{100})^2
P1(1+\frac{10}{100}) =P2
P1(\frac{11}{10}) =P2

Total amount left by Ashok = P1 + P2 = 48300
P1 +  P1(\frac{11}{10})  =48300
\frac {21}{10} P1= 48300
P1 = 23000
