Sitting arrangements in Reasoning are three type:-
- Straight Line / सीधी रेखा
- Two Lines Opposite to each Other
- Circular / वृत्तीय
- Square/ Rectangular / वर्ग / आयताकार
Type 1: Straight Line / सीधी रेखा
Tricks: In Straight line Sitting arrangement, consider their face is toward North. On paper your and their left/right side will be same.
- सीधी रेखा में बैठने की व्यवस्था में, उनका चेहरा उत्तर की ओर है। कागज पर आपके और उनके बाएँ / दाएँ पक्ष समान होंगे।
- जिस व्यक्ति के साथ के/से शब्द आता है उस व्यक्ति को सबसे पहले लिखा जाता है।
Example: Seven person A,B,C,D,E,F and G are standing in a straight line. D is in the Right side of G. C, is in between A and B. E is between F and D. There are three person in between G and B. Who is at left end?
सात व्यक्ति A, B, C, D, E, F और G एक सीधी रेखा में खड़े हैं। D, G के दाईं ओर है।
C, A और B के बीच में है। E, F और D के बीच है। G और B के बीच तीन व्यक्ति हैं। बाएं छोर पर कौन है?
Solution:
Left Side ————————————————- Right Side
- G, D
- ACB, BCA
- FED, DEF : FED is not possible from (1), G,D,E,F
- G * * * B, B***G : Cont from 3 : G,D,E,F,B
Now from (2) : G,D,E,F,B,C,A
G is at left end of line.
Type 2: Two Lines Opposite to each Other
Right side person sitting in one line will be Left side of persons sitting in opposite line.
Example: Six persons A, B, C, D, E, and F sit in two rows. 3 person in each row. E is not at any end. D is second to left of F. C is opposite to neighbor of B. B is neighbor of F. Who will be opposite to B.
छह व्यक्ति A, B, C, D, E और F दो पंक्तियों में बैठते हैं। प्रत्येक पंक्ति में 3 व्यक्ति। E किसी भी छोर पर नहीं है। D, F के बाएं से दूसरे स्थान पर है। C, B के पड़ोसी के विपरीत है। B, F का पड़ोसी है। B के विपरीत कौन होगा।
Solution :

| C is opposite to neighbor of B | B may at either end |
Clearly, E is opposite to B.
Type 3: Circular / वृत्तीय Sitting Arrangement
Concepts:
The mouth of persons : towards the center.
Right Side Means – Anti-clock wise
Left side means – Clock wise direction.
Example: 6 Girls are sitting on a round table with face towards the center. B is the left side of V. R is in between B and M. J is in between V and N. Who is in the left side of M.
6 लड़कियां गोल मेज पर केंद्र की ओर मुंह करके बैठी हैं। B, V के बाएं ओर है। R, B और M के बीच में है। J, V और N के बीच में है। M के बाईं ओर कौन है।
Solution: Draw the sitting arrangement on the basis of given information.
N is sitting left of M.
Type: 4 : Square/ Rectangular / वर्ग / आयताकार
Question: Four girls and four boys are sitting facing the center in a square. Each is seated at the corners of the square and at the center points of its arms. Madhu is in a diagonal form just in front of Usha, who is seated to the right of the Gita. Rai next to Gita is in front of Gopi who is sitting to the left of Bose. Suma’s position is in front of Prema, not Madhu’s right. Who is sitting in front of Bose?
चार लड़कियाँ तथा चार लड़के एक वर्ग में केन्द्र की ओर मुँह करके बैठे हुऐ हैं। प्रत्येक वर्ग के कोनों पर तथा उसकी भुजाओं के मध्य बिन्दुओं पर बैठा है। मधु की स्थिति उषा के ठीक सामने विकर्ण रूप में है, जो गीता के दाहिनी ओर बैठी है। गीता से अगला राय गोपी के सामने है जो बोस के बायी ओर बैठा है। सुमा की स्थिति मधु के दाहिने न होकर प्रेमा के सामने है। बोस के सामने कौन बैठा है?
Solution : Follow Steps and draw the sitting arrangement:
